Parent/Teacher Interviews Week 3 (1-4 August)
We are very excited to be hosting our Parent/Teacher Interviews next week. If you haven’t already booked, please email our admin team and they can forward you information regarding our booking system.
As we are hosting the Interviews in the new buildings, the maps below are to help parents from getting lost. It includes information around where to enter, where to wait and where the interviews will be held. There will also be lots of signage around the school to support our families. The front office admin doors will be locked from 3:30pm so we ask parents to access the school along Vasey Crescent or from the oval (except for our Preschool families, who will enter the school from the bottom preschool gate).
Learning Community A (LCA) Kindergarten, Year 1, and Year 2
Learning Community B (LCB) Year 3 and 4
Learning Community C (LCC) Year 5 and 6
Professional Learning- Embedded Visuals
Last Monday the Preschool to Year 2 teaching team engaged in a professional learning (PL) session run by the Education Department’s Allied Health team. The PL was facilitated by a speech therapist. She provided the team with ways to construct and utilise visual aids (displays) to support all learners. As we have now moved into the new learning areas our work will focus on how to best display all these visual supports in contemporary and flexible learning environments.
School Operational Plan- Responding the staff shortage
The Directorate is working closely with schools to ensure that there is continuity of learning for our students despite staff shortages. During next Friday’s pupil free day, the leadership team will create Campbell Primary School’s Operational Plan. This Plan scopes out the strategies we will utilise if/when we face extreme staff shortage. If all strategies have been exhausted, cohorts of classes may switch into remote learning for short periods of time. If cohorts switch to remote, Preschool to Year 2 will be provided with learning packs and our Year 3-6 students will access their Google Classroom.
Families would have received an email from Kate Stear in regard to our Year 3-6 families requesting a Chromebook in the event of a remote learning period. If you did not receive that email, please contact our admin team.
Staffing update
One of our wonderful Executive Teachers, Kate Stear has been offered a two year placement within the Directorate’s Office and will be leaving Campbell Primary.
Kate joined the Campbell Primary School community in the middle at 2019 as the team leader for Year 5. Over the last couple of years Kate has supported students and teachers across the school, drawing from her incredible pedagogy and teaching practice. Kate has lead several professional development sessions with our staff, focusing particularly on analysing our students’ writing and supporting our teachers setting personalised student writing goals. We will miss Kate’s positive energy and infectious laugh.
Kate’s last day will be on 5 August. We wish her the best of luck in her new role.
Keep safe
