Sporting Schools, Term 4 Program
Campbell Primary were once again successful in our application for sporting schools funding, but this term it looked a little different. With specialist coaches unable to attend site due to ongoing covid safe restrictions we were this term offered the opportunity to upskill our teaching and support staff in a nominated sports program. Teachers elected ultimate frisbee, lacrosse and football (soccer) for their various cohorts. After some wonderful professional development and utilising a range of new equipment all Campbell Primary students were enthusiastic in engaging with their chosen sport for a 4 week program, with some extending even further. Students were so keen much of the equipment was brought out for breaks for extra practice! Staff have been impressed with the effort and commitment from students and enjoyed the opportunity to learn some new sports right alongside them. There is very possibly a staff vs students ultimate frisbee game in our future, once restrictions allow!

We are very grateful for the opportunity to access these resources thanks again to the Australian Government Sporting Schools grant program. It has included a range of new equipment this term so that we can continue to engage in active learning well into the future. A big thanks to our teaching staff who extended themselves outside their comfort zone to learn and deliver new skills in unfamiliar sports.
We hope to see specialist coaches return in 2022.
