Principal's Message

Kinsman_Paula.jpg

Dear families,

Our staff will shortly begin working in professional teams to explore class configurations and student placements to meet the social, emotional and academic needs of all students.

When formulating classes several factors are considered including academics, student wellbeing, interpersonal relationships and additional needs. Decisions are also informed based on the number of students in a cohort, class size mandates, gender balance and school staffing budgets.  At Campbell Primary School, this generally involves a mix of straight class groupings and some multi-age class groupings.

If your circumstances have changed and you do not intend on returning in 2022, it is essential that you notify the front office immediately. This information is critical and can have a significant impact on class configurations and school staffing.

In our week 10 newsletter the school will publish the anticipated class configurations and the teaching teams for each cohort.  Please be aware this may be subject to change as new enrolments occur over the December and January period.  Prior to the commencement of the 2022 school year, families will be notified of their child’s contact teacher.

2021 School Satisfaction and Climate Survey

The School Satisfaction Survey has been extended until the 19 November.

Each year, the Directorate surveys all parents and carers, school staff and students in Years 4 to 12 about their experience of public education. The survey results will help us to continue to make quality informed decisions about how to improve our school. No personal identifying information will be provided to any school or college.

For the results to reflect the opinions of our whole school community, we need as many parents and carers, staff and students as possible to complete the survey. Your feedback is important, and we hope you will take part.

Please click the link below if you have not yet completed this survey.

Once you have completed the survey, to show our appreciation we would like to give your child/ren a special gel pen.  Please complete the form below by clicking on the link or return the note that went home last week.  Each child in the family will receive a gel pen, so please make sure to add each of their names and classes.

Campbell Primary School Modernisation Update

As you are aware, work has recommenced on the modernisation of our school in Campbell. However, like many of the construction works across the ACT, the wet weather and COVID-19 restrictions has impacted and created delays to delivering these buildings on time. As a result, the new learning spaces will not be ready for the start of 2022 school year.

The following information outlines the new arrangements that will be put in place for the end of this year and the start of the 2022 school year, ensuring the safety of staff, students and your school community is prioritised and disruption to classes is minimised:

Voluntary Contributions 2021

We have had some recent inquiries regarding families wishing to make their 2021 voluntary contribution to the school.  Upon request, please see below the communications sent earlier this year.

Have your say on better places to play!

Calling Canberra kids and parents! You can now have your say on the future of play spaces in the ACT.

The draft ACT Play Space Strategy sets the direction for the future of our play spaces to make sure they are happy, healthy, inclusive and sustainable.

Canberra has among the highest number of play spaces per capita of all Australian cities, with over 500 owned and managed by the ACT Government, and we want to make sure they keep getting better as our city changes and grows.

The ACT Government is also currently seeking feedback on a proposed new play space and recreation park for the inner north, to provide a wider range of outdoor recreation opportunities for residents of all ages and abilities. To learn more and provide feedback, visit YourSay.

Both consultations close 14 December 2021.
