CASAC News - National Quality Standard (NQS) Assessment and Rating Results
Congratulations to Susan and the CASAC team for a great result in their recent Australian Children’s Education and Care Authority (ACECQA) NQS Assessment and Rating process.
Education and Care Services are required by law to be routinely assessed and rated by ACECQA against seven areas of the NQS.
The assessment and rating process is carried out over a number of weeks and includes a review of the Service’s documentation, submission of quality improvement documents as well as on premise assessments of documentation, facilities, activities and staff which are held over a number of days.
CASAC’s Rating in 2016 resulted in a ‘Working Towards’ rating meaning “Service provides a safe education and care program, but there is one or more areas for improvement”. Susan took on the running of CASAC not long after this result. Over the past three years under Susan’s leadership and support from the P&C, the CASAC team have worked hard to continuously improve CASAC’s standard of care. Their hard work has paid off with an overall rating of ‘Exceeding NQS’ meaning “Service goes beyond the requirements of the National Quality Standard in at least four of the seven quality areas”.
The P&C would like to congratulate the CASAC team for achieving such a great result. We would also like to acknowledge the hours of planning, documentation and management that went into not only this audit but the day to day running of the Service.
Once again congratulations Susan, Anna and the CASAC team.
Thank you to volunteers.
The P and C would like to show our appreciation for the parents who volunteer for the many and varied roles throughout the year organising activities for both fun and fundraising. We would like to thank all of those who came to events and contributed by manning the barbecue, baking cakes, setting up tables and much, much more.
We would like to thank the following people in particular:
- Mel Rhodes who worked tirelessly through the year in her capacity as disco organiser and scholastic book club representative as well as helping with other activities along the way.
- Danita Burg who continued her efforts with the entertainment books and mango fundraising.
- Desiree Koch who continued to help with communications and the facebook page.
- Susan Hoffmann and Anna Woodhouse who organised the Mother's and Father's days stalls.
- Pip D'Ews Thomson who did a marvellous job organising the election fete – what a day!
