Campbell Primary students in Years 3 to 6 were excited during week 4 to commence a 4xweek tennis program as part of their Health and PE learning. This took place at the Campbell Tennis Courts adjacent to our school. With special thanks to specialist coaches Dan and Dan from Tennis 360, students are two weeks into the fundamental skills of tennis program that so far has including forehand, backhand, volleys and rallies. All students have been enthusiastically participating in the program with lots of laughs and wayward tennis balls to go with our learning.

There were some questions about the requirement for an excursion note for this activity. Under the recently revised ACT Directorate of Education policy, any movement of students outside of the defined school boundary, is subject to the excursion policy. The permission note provided for students in Years 3 to 6 will cover the tennis and any additional local area excursion for the remainder of 2021. If you have not yet returned this note, please do so asap by email – we would love to see all students able to participate. The note is available via the school website (go to “dropbox” then “notes sent home”).

While the tennis program is temporarily suspended, we hope to return for the remaining two weeks as soon as possible. Even a balloon and some paddles is a fun and safe way to get some movement and have some fun!
