Principal's Message

Kinsman_Paula.jpg
Dear families and carers,

Firstly, thank you for your continued support and patience as we prepare for remote online learning.

I am sure you have heard through media that many of our schools are becoming hotspots. For this reason, the ACT Government has asked that all children remain at home unless their parent(s) are essential workers who cannot work from home and/or they are identified as vulnerable. The school will have a small number of staff onsite to supervise those children who must come to school. If your child meets the above criteria and needs to be at school, please email to indicate your requirements: campbellps@ed.act.edu.au

We want to acknowledge that moving back to remote learning is confronting and challenging especially for our parents who have not been through this before. Please be kind to yourself, if you have any problems logging on do not panic, if it takes time to get into a routine at home that is O.K and if you need to juggle some of the learning around your working hours we understand. We are here to help.

Many of our children already know how to log on and access their learning, but in the event they do not, we have prepared a remote learning hub that is intended for parent support:

https://sites.google.com/ed.act.edu.au/cpsremotelearninghub/home

Access to our remote learning hub will also be available through our website. Just look for the 'Remote Learning' tab!

This page is in the early days of development but will be progressively updated as we move into our remote learning period. On the page you will find:

  • Leadership messages
  • Wellbeing Tips
  • Log on advice and links
  • ICT trouble shooting
  • Information on staying safe online
  • Contacting the school details

And much more to come...

Friday 20 August: Let's get back to learning!

We ask that all families prepare to be logged on for 9:00am, classroom teachers will have prepared a link for all students to attend a Google Meet. This is where we will be taking attendance and introducing the students to their timetables, work expectations and platforms. Each class will also have an afternoon meet scheduled for feedback and to respond to any questions that may arise. Please also check your emails or seesaw notification as some teachers have sent additional information specific to their year group.

Please note that the Sea Turtles and Dolphins Preschool groups will commence remote learning on Monday 23 August.

AGAIN: Do not panic if you cannot get on, we will work with you to resolve any hiccups along the way.

Teachers will be available at various points throughout the day to answer questions and the leadership team will also be supporting families struggling to log on. Remember, you also have the remote learning hub that may answer some of your questions.

Our priority this week is the wellbeing of our students, families and staff.
