World of Maths Roadshow

After not being able to host this popular event last year, it was with renewed enthusiasm that the students from K-6 welcomed the return of the World of Maths Roadshow.

The sessions gave an ideal opportunity for students to see how maths is applied to everyday life situations and to explore maths in a hands-on environment.  Students were encouraged to communicate their maths ideas and answers with other students in small teams working together.  Students gained insight into problem solving, working in teams, and exploring various mathematical concepts all aligned to the Australian Curriculum.

It was a highly engaging experience which show that maths is everywhere and is important and of course that maths can be fun!

The Kindy and Year 1 classes were supported by Year 5 and 6 helpers.  The photographer for the day Karyn Penney commented “I would like to say how exceptional the Year 5 and Year 6 activity leaders were. They really did an outstanding job and set a great tone for the activities”.
