Rostrum
Rostrum has been running a Primary Schools Speaking Competition for nearly 50 years for schools in the ACT and surrounding areas of New South Wales. Over the past few weeks students from Years 3 to 6 have been practising their public speaking skills and been doing a fabulous job by all accounts. Each class selected their strongest speaker/s to participate in Campbell Primary School’s Rostrum Finals, which were held last week.
Our finalist were: Emily (3B), Lina (3D), Chloe (4G), Tilly (4S), Rosie (5E), Coda (5E), Sabrina (5L), Sophie (5L), Charlotte (6S), Jaya (6S) and Hawk (6H).
The judging panel of Ms Herrington, Ms Minehan and Mr Scherer had an extremely tough decision in choosing the winner.
In the end they all agreed Sabrina (5L) confidently delivered the strongest speech and was declared the Campbell Primary School Rostrum Winner for 2021. Charlotte (6S) was awarded the runner up position.
Sabrina is now off to the quarter finals in a couple of weeks and we wish her all the best!
A massive congratulations to our finalists and to all participants in the Rostrum competition this year. Public speaking is not easy and we are so proud of all of our students for having a go and doing their best!
