Year 5 Adventures, from camp to space!
Year 5 has been very busy this term. First day back, we all hopped on a bus ready for our camp at Berry. Straight away the students of Year 5 were given a magnificent lunch and then we all made our way down to the creek to go kayaking and canoeing. Later that night, we had lots of fun playing games in the hall and after a quick supper of warm milk and cookies we all went to bed in our cabins.
In the morning, Year 5 got to participate in two more activities, archery and orienteering. As the Year 6’s turned up for lunch, we packed up, said our goodbyes and made our way back to school. We all had a fantastic time on our first sleepover camp and according to many students, we are all looking forward to a two night sleepover next year.
Other exciting things Year 5 have been doing this term is starting our Gold Rush enquiry unit. Very soon we will be sewing calico bags for our gold nuggets, creating clay sculptures and mining for gold across the Campbell playground. Year 5 has also been creating some amazing looking Solar Systems during science with Mrs Nguyen. We have also had our Cross Country and were very proud of the effort of all our students this year.
