Year 5/6 Camps
Year 5 and 6 students were lucky enough to go to Berry Sport and Recreation Centre for camp in week 1.
After a long bus ride, we arrived at picturesque Berry and had the opportunity to participate in some amazing activities.
First up was a trip to the river where we boarded kayaks and canoes and paddled our way downstream. Making a few stops along the way, we soaked up the beautiful scenery before racing back to the dock. Once we packed up the kayaks and canoes, those who were brave enough had a quick swim in the refreshing water.
In the evening, we formed ‘countries’ and completed a series of challenges that required team work, skill and problem solving. It was lots of fun and we certainly worked up an appetite for supper before bed.
Some of us got more sleep than others that night, but that didn’t matter once we launched into our two activities for the morning, archery and orienteering.
There was some impressive control of the bow and arrow, as well as excellent team work and map reading during these activities.
We were sad to be leaving, but really enjoyed our time at camp. It was an amazing experience that we are very grateful for.
