This term, we saw 6 Campbell teams join the Schools Orienteering competition, with a total of 28 teams overall from schools across Canberra. We have had some brand new students join SC-ORE for the first time, and they are to be commended for their awesome efforts!

SC-ORE is a great way for students to use their brains and bodies before school, as they need to use a map to locate controls around a set area, before coming back to the start to tag their team mates. Each student carries a timing chip, called a P-Card, and uses it at each control. Being fast does not always mean that your team might do well, as you also have to be able to read the map accurately to find the correct controls.

This season, the Campbell A team has managed to hold onto third place, with some very stiff competition amidst the teams in 1st and 2nd place. Today (Thursday 25th March) marks the 4th and final SC-ORE event for the 4 week competition. We wish our Campbell kids all the best and hope they have had a great time orienteering!
