On Tuesday this week we had Cookie from Menslink visit Campbell Primary to speak to the year 5 and 6 male students and to share ideas and experiences around men’s mental health. Sharing the message “It’s Not Weak to Speak”, the boys spent an hour discussing a variety of issues relevant to them during their senior primary years such as how to be a good mate if a friend is in need and what supports are available to them here at school and in the community. We would like to extend our appreciation to Cookie and the Menslink team for their time.

Not to be outdone, the girls took the opportunity to work on their teamwork, problem solving and cooperation skills while the boys participated in their Menslink workshop. Using board games and challenges as a medium, all year 5 and 6 girls came together to spend some dedicated unstructured time together whilst discussing issues relevant to them. It was great to see some mentoring and peer support during the session. Thank you Miss Ebbage for facilitating this session.
