Welcome back
It is lovely to welcome back all our students into their classrooms and to have them re-engaging with their learning and peers. We are looking forward to a time where we can open our doors and have an increased parent and community presence again! We would like to thank our community for some of the lovely feedback we have had as we have navigated through 2020. Although, entering the school is discouraged at this point in time, unless by appointment, please remember we are only a phone call or email away. Do not hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions, concerns or information to share.

As we start term 3, we farewell Kate Perkins who has temporarily transferred to North Ainslie Primary School to fill a fulltime classroom position on a Year 3/4 class. Ms Kate’s kind and caring nature will be dearly missed by many in the Kindergarten and wider school community.

CONGRATULATIONS Erin Minehan!!! It is with great pleasure that I announce that Erin has been appointed the substantive Deputy Principal of Campbell Primary School. Erin is an exceptional leader with a strong background in maximising student learning outcomes through targeted support, building staff capacity through mentoring and coaching and thinking strategically using evidence-based practice and future focused lens.
A visit from the Director-General: Katy Haire
Next week Campbell Primary School has the privilege of sharing our School’s improvement journey with Katy Haire. During her visit we will be touring the school, chatting to students and sharing some of the work we have completed in the classroom and during remote learning. We will also be sharing some of the amazing activities we have been doing to maintain a positive outlook including the work with the P&C to plant bulbs and our appreciation week activities.
School Satisfaction and Climate Survey: your feedback can make a difference
Listening to parents, staff and students is one of the most important things that schools can do. As part of our continuous effort to improve ACT schools, each year all parents, school staff and students in Years 4 to 6 are invited to give feedback through the School Satisfaction & Climate Survey. The 2020 survey will be available online from 10 to 31 August. This is your opportunity to have a say about your satisfaction with public education. Learn more about the survey on the Education website.
Winter Walk to School Week 10-14 August
Winter Walk to School Week 10-14 August (week 4) aims to encourage students to walk, ride, skate, or scoot to school even in the colder months. During winter in Canberra it can be hard to stay motivated and to get the recommended 60 minutes of physical activity that children need every day. Many schools have implemented new pick up and drop off procedures in line with physical distancing measures that may mean increased congestion in carparks. Encouraging students and their families to ride or walk to school to avoid congestion is just another good reason to travel to school this way.
