Lego Club

Lego_Club_Flyer_Page_1.jpg

Dear families,

This term we will be starting up a LEGO Club for students to participate in each Friday at lunch. The club is an opportunity for students to further develop their coding skills through open-based projects, using the Lego We-Do 2.0 learning resource. These projects will be linked to other curriculum areas, such as, Science and HASS, and will give students the opportunity to design a solution to a given problem.

The Lego Club will take place in 1G classroom each week. The Lego Club will follow the below structure each week to ensure consistency from week to week:

12:50pm – Eating Time in 1G

1:00pm – Begin open-based project

1:30pm – Free play with Lego

1:40pm – Pack up

Student will only need to bring their lunch to the Lego Club as all Lego resources will be provided by the school.

Students who sign up will be allocated a partner to work with each session for the term. There is a total of 20 spots available, 10 spots for children in years 1 to 3, and another 10 for students in years 4 to 6. Students who are interested in joining will need to sign up by filling in the below slip and placing it in the box located at the front office from Thursday 30th July. To avoid disappointment, please return the slips promptly as the positions will be filled based on how quickly students return their forms. Please take the opportunity to discuss with your child committing to the Lego Club every Friday lunchtime from weeks 5 to 10. Miss Green will send home a note to students who have secured a spot in the Lego Club in Week 4.

If you have any questions related to the Lego Club, please do not hesitate to contact Rachel Green via email Rachel.green@ed.act.edu.au.

Kind regards,

Rachel Green
