AFL Clinic
On Thursday, 30 May, students from Kindergarten through to Year 2 had the exciting opportunity to take part in an Australian Football League (AFL) clinic.
This clinic provided our Campbell youngsters with a fantastic introduction to the thrilling world of AFL, and best of all, it was completely free.
The focus of the session was on three key skills of AFL: catching (marking), kicking, and handballing.
Amidst plenty of smiles and laughter, there was also a fair amount of panting — AFL is indeed a highly physical sport, especially when chasing after that uniquely shaped ball. However, the highlight of the day was undoubtedly the playful banter exchanged between the children and the two coaches, discussing which teams their parents supported or who their favourite players were.
For those eager to give it another shot, there's good news: an After School Auskick program will be running from weeks 6 to 9, every Thursday on Campbell Oval. The cost is $50 for the four-week period.
