Deputy Principal's Report
Rostrum Public Speaking Competition
On Monday of this week I was privileged to be a judge on the panel for the CPS Rostrum Public Speaking Competition final! The standard of speeches was particularly high this year, with each one of the students who made the final presenting well researched and rehearsed speeches that showed incredible effort.
After much deliberation and consideration, the panel of judges decided that Jessica Wing’s speech, themed ‘Choir’, which cleverly used the concept of choir as an analogy of gender inequality, was to be our school’s winner for 2024. Makensie Burney’s speech on ‘Bad Advice’ was the runner up.
Judging was an immense task, as each of the speeches was delivered to a very high standard. One teacher commented that they were collectively the best that they have seen at Campbell Primary School! We could have confidently sent any of our finalists onto the quarter-final knowing that they would have done us all very proud. Big congratulations to all students who participated, you should all be immensely proud of yourselves!

Preschool Outdoor Environment
We are very excited to be commencing work with Ben from Playgrounded on Tuesday 11th June, for our preschool outdoor environment improvement project. Work will commence whilst preschool is in operation, which should be very exciting for the preschoolers to observe! Our intention for this work is to rejuvenate the existing environment with beautiful natural spaces that invite open-ended play and creativity.
Below is a plan of what we can expect to see in preschool in coming weeks.
