National Road Safety Week 2024 – Drive so others survive – 5-12 May 2024
Road safety is in the spotlight this week, with all Canberrans urged to take a pledge to drive so others survive as part of National Road Safety Week. This is particularly important for our younger drivers who are disproportionately represented in casualty crashes.
Driving so others survive means, obeying the speed limit, wearing a seatbelt, not driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol, driving to the conditions, and leaving the phone alone. Road safety is everyone’s responsibility, as the country works toward Vision Zero – no deaths or serious injuries on Australian roads. Share the attached colouring-in activity with students to help start a conversation about road safety. Find out more and take the pledge at National Road Safety Week.
