Principal's Report
P&C- AGM 21 March
The P&Cs Annual General Meeting (AGM) was held on 21 March. During that meeting, a new Executive Committee was elected for 2024:
President- Harriet Sutton
Vice President- Claire Miles
Treasure- Rob Bonora
Secretary- Belinda Bailie
It was lovely to see some new families attending the meeting. I am looking forward to working collaboratively with the P&C again this year.
I wanted to take this opportunity also to say some Thank Yous to Robyn Briese, James, and Danielle Hawley who have been the P&C president, vice-president, and secretary for a couple of years. Whether it was organising fundraisers, running whole-school events and managing the three P&C businesses, their commitment to the school and our students can be felt across the community.

DSM Update
Our amazing Defence School Mentor (DSM), Karyn Penney is taking leave over Terms 2 and 3. All members of our community would know Karyn - she is such an incredible member of our staff who is always very busy either taking photos, applying for a range of sporting grants, organising external visitors, running Defence Cub, and generally being super invested in every little person at CPS.
Whilst Karyn is on leave, Taite Gregg will be acting in the DSM role. Taite will be joining CPS as of 11 April to shadow Karyn for the last couple of days of the term. Taite will send an introduction letter to all families early in Term 2.
Celebrating our Students
Author Archie McC from Year 6 shared with me his trilogy titled ‘Danger Oasis’. This three-part series was worked on during class time and was inspired by a piece of artwork. Ms Thane and Ms Penney supported Archie to refine, select matching imagery, and publish his work. I'd love to share a snippet of the trilogy, but it is just too scary! We are always very proud of our students who persist and show a commitment to their learning. Well done Archie!

Celebrating our Staff
SoundWaves Professional Learning
The very knowledgeable Fleur Forster, aka Ms Fussy Forster, recently facilitated a SoundWaves workshop with all staff. The workshop aimed at providing the teachers with an opportunity to navigate all the resources including playing a range of games spelling games. Thank you Fleur for sharing your expertise, I know our teachers appreciated the session.

Last week of term next week and then time for a two-week break. I hope all families have a lovely break and look forward to seeing what Term 2 has to offer.
Take care
