It’s been a big week for sport at Campbell Primary School with session three of our 2024 Hoops Program taking place on Tuesday for Year 5.

The session was delivered by the super stars and professional basketball players of the UC Capitals Alex “Bunts” Bunton and team Co-Captain Alex “Sharpy” Sharp. We are definitely making the most of our new court facilities with Year 5 working hard on basketball skills, fitness, teamwork, communication, and leadership throughout the sessions.

We have been so fortunate between Term 4 2023 and this term to have hosted almost all of the Canberra Capitals team, including recent Australian Opals Olympic qualifier Jade Melbourne. Some of them like us so much they have been more than once. Hopefully we can entice Japanese import Monica Okoye to come next time and share some of her culture along with her skills!

The UC Capitals play their final game of the 23/24 season this Saturday at 2:30pm at the Convention Centre. If you haven’t caught a game yet please get along and enjoy the experience.  Hopefully we can cheer the girls home for a final win of the season and spoil the Boomers hopes of a finals place!
