Not going to lie, the thought of large wooden sticks in the hands of some of our littlest students brought some trepidation this week! On the contrary our amazing Year 1-4 classes had an incredible (and very safe) time trying out the sport of hockey. Under the expert eye of wonderful and experienced coaches from Hockey ACT, students learned to dribble, pass and tackle through a series of fun and educational drills and games. It was a fantastic opportunity to try something different for health and physical education and was thoroughly enjoyed by students and staff alike.

A huge thank you goes out to Lisa and the team from Hockey ACT for visiting us again this year. If students have “caught the bug” or you are looking for something fun and free to do this weekend check out their 'come and try day' on either Saturday (Northside) or Sunday (Southside). We hear there will be lots of Canberra Chill players in attendance and possibly a current Kookaburra’s prospective Olympian! All the details are in the flyer included with the photos.
