Principal's Report

Welcome

Welcome back all of our families to 2024! It has been such a wonderful start to the term, watching the students reconnect/connect with friends, teachers, and the greater school community.

Teachers have worked closely with their classes to build positive learning environments. They are facilitating conversations and setting expectations around what learning should look like, feel like, and sound like. These conversations are helping to create a class culture that is respectful and inclusive. When parents/carers visit for our up-and-coming Yarns they will see the agreements on their child’s classroom wall. Below are some examples of classroom working walls, displaying their agreements:

Families will notice that this year each class has created a class name. Kerry Johnston (Executive teacher and member of our Wellbeing Committee) has included a piece in this newsletter explaining the thinking behind the importance of a class name and the processes undertaken while creating them. Your child’s term overview will contain their chosen name.

Invigorated Vision and Mission/Values

As most of our families would know, we had the pleasure of announcing our new Campbell Primary School Vision and Mission/Values and over the holidays we are very excited to have received the graphics from the graphic designer.

The values of Curious, Connected, and Caring and their symbols have been added to the school’s letterhead, were considered when creating teachers’ professional learning, and helped guide our 2024 Annual Action Plan. We are utilsing our values to support Campbell Primary School’s culture of setting high expectations for all community members safely and inclusively.

I am so excited to be working together this year, if we haven't already met, please come and see me, I am always out and about before and after school.

Take care
