Captains Corner
You do not know how much you have until you lose it. I am not sure about you but we are really missing going to school. We never realized how much we would miss getting in the car/on our bikes/ on to the bus or walking to get to school. We never thought we would miss our teachers lessons or the fortnightly assemblies.
In fact some days we did not even want to go to school. It was not until going to school was cancelled that we realized how much we would miss it.
We’ve been looking into some jobs that are isolated to help us cope with COVID19 restrictions.
One job that is really isolated is a submariner.
When submariners are at sea they do the following things:
- Have a routine everyday.
- Always practise good hygiene because they are in small spaces often hot bunking which means sharing a bed between night and day shifts.
- Walk away from arguments with people and try not to irritate each other.
- Keep in touch with their loved ones by email.
- Keep up their exercise - they do squats, push ups, lunges and weight bearing exercises.
- Eat healthily.
- Start something new like learning a language or reading new books.
- Maintain hobbies where they can like reading, writing stories or playing games.
- Most importantly they recommend having a laugh and love telling jokes.
So here is a joke for you all.
Q: Did you hear the joke about the germ?
A: Never mind I don’t want to spread it around
Something to add for things to do, is cooking. Here’s an easy and quick recipe to make a delicious dessert of sponge pudding.
Ingredients
115 grams of butter softened
2 eggs
170 grams of self raising flour
115 grams of caster sugar
Splash of milk
Method
Mix all together until smooth. Put into a microwave safe pudding bowl. Cover with a cloth or plastic and cook about 4 minutes in a 900w microwave
To tell that it’s done it will not be wet on top.
Turn out onto a plate and serve with maple syrup or golden syrup or jam and ice cream. Yummy!!!!
You can share your amazing cake with Campbell by putting it on the Campbell Connects classroom.
That is all from us, stay safe and hope to see you soon at school.
