Principal's Report
Campbell Primary School’s new Vision and Mission
Over the last semester, one of our incredible executives, Kerry Johnstone (Ms J) led staff, students, and families in updating our school’s Vision and Mission/Values. Ms J ran serval staff meetings and worked in classrooms to gather input from our community.
Our Vision and Mission/Values aims at creating a culture at Campbell Primary School that drives our strategic planning, reflects the needs of our community whilst supporting teaching and learning. We hope our Vision and Mission/Values speaks for all members of our community.
We have engaged a graphic designer to develop a visual representation of this work and are looking at ways to incorporate the visuals at school, in learning spaces and on our website.
The new Vision and Mission/Values are as follows:
Campbell Primary School’s Vision is to develop a community of engaged learners.
We create an environment that:
- Is inclusive and respectful
- Nurtures an inquiring mindset that leads to lifelong learning
- Fosters a strong sense of belonging

Maths Trek Teacher Professional Development
Next year all schools across Australia will be reporting against and creating teaching program based on the updated Version 9 of the Australian Curriculum (Home | V9 Australian Curriculum). To support our teachers’ programs, explicit teaching and reporting, we have engaged with the Math Trek team. Maths Trek is a mathematics teaching resource for Kindergarten to Year 6 students.
This resource offers a sequential scope and sequence, programming and planning supports as well as online interactive whiteboard resources. As part of the 2024 book packs our Kindergarten to Year 6 families will purchase a student workbook and our Year 2-6 will also utilise an online platform that focuses on mental computation.
We are excited to be on this journey, continuing to offer highly engaging, hands-on, interactive mathematics program.

Superstar Student Author- Scarlett Bonora
I always love when I am on playground duty and students approach me for a chat. Recently one of our Year 4 students, Scarlett Bonora and I were talking, and she mentioned that she is the author of a novel. This novel has been a passion project of Scarlett’s and in her free time she writes! Scarlett very graciously shared her novel with me, and I was blown away. Her descriptive language, character development and plot were beautifully crafted. Her novel, titled, “Scarlett Crimson and the Oblivious Purple Light” is not complete, however, it is too good not to share. Please click on the link to read the first five chapters of her book.
