Principal's Report

Hi Campbell families and carers

It has been a lovely experience for me to visit Campbell Primary School and get to see, hear and value the community you have here. I have especially enjoyed the vibrance and happy dispositions of the learners, with so many young people telling me about what they love about their school and sharing with me their class work. You have a professional and hard working staff who work collaboratively to help the school run smoothly. To those parents I have met throughout my short time here, thank you for being welcoming to a new face on the school grounds.

I wanted to personally thank the P&C who donated a lovely cake for the teachers to enjoy for World Teachers' Day, celebrated on Friday 27 October. A gesture like this demonstrates how a community values the profession of teachers.  A big take away for me is the high level of engagement from the P&C and community at Campbell Primary. This extends to P&C run events, like the disco, the Colour Run, the before and afterschool program as well as the volunteers who dash in and about to make the place hum along. Thank you for caring about the staff and recognising the work the staff do every day.

An area of development in the school is the renewal of the school’s vision and mission. The students and staff have been discussing and sharing their beliefs about what a ‘Campbell graduate’ is - the knowledge and skills they have, the effort and persistence in times of challenge, and their personal/social values. For a school to authentically create these statements and beliefs, it must carry the voices of all three stakeholders - the students, the staff and the community. If you haven’t already done so, please take the time to complete the parent survey, sharing your view on what you think is important for the renewal of Campbell Primary’s vision (the desired future state) and mission (a definition of purpose and how it will be achieved). The school has incredible potential through this process to redefine and design 21st century learning through the contemporary learning spaces and eagerness of student learners.  https://forms.gle/mkFQMuTqGqaUN68v9

Thanks for having me visit!
