Camo 4 A Cause call for support
Camo for a cause day
Can you help?
Campbell Primary School are rolling up their camo pattern sleeves in order to raise funds for the charity Legacy. On Friday 1 September, we will be asking students to wear camouflage clothing, hats or bandanas in any colour for a gold coin donation. To make the day extra special we are running a range of fun military themed activities for the students between 11:30am and 1:15pm. The RMC Pep Band will be providing the soundtrack for an awesome day, there will be an equipment and drill display from the always polished Federation Guard, plus an interactive first aid display is also on the cards.
We would still love to see more! Do you have some amazing equipment that would make a great display? Is your unit king of the tug-of-war and want to test their prowess against 100 energetic kids? Do you know some red short wearing fitness experts that might like to shepherd kids through a makeshift obstacle course? We won’t say no to a helicopter or a RAAF hot air balloon either! We are open to any and all ideas and every contribution big or small would be highly valued. There is an official DACC request that any support can be linked back to; reference 5695300623 (POC is WO2 Gordon at JOSS).
The recent helicopter tragedy during Ex Talisman Sabre brings to light just how important the work of Legacy is in supporting the widows and children of veterans who pass away during service or any time after. This is their 100th year and they still have 43,000 partners and children they support every day. If you would like to learn more about Legacy please watch the videos here or here (trigger warning, viewer discretion is advised) or visit their website https://www.legacy.com.au/ .
More information for students will follow in the next newsletter; please note the save the date! If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to make contact via email at any time: Karyn.heitmann@ed.act.edu.au
