The Children’s Asthma Education Service helps children, young people, and their families understand wheezing and asthma. The service is free for people aged 1 to 18 years old with a current Medicare card and run by Registered Nurses employed by Canberra Health Services. The service teaches clients and families asthma first aid, and explains how asthma medications work and how to use them appropriately. It provides clients and their treating medical teams recommendations on ways to improve management of wheeze/asthma in line with best practice guidelines.

Appointments are face to face and are provided by Nurse Asthma Educators in Community Health Centers around the ACT.
