Principal's Report

Dear families and carers,

P&C Mural

Over the holidays our incredible P&C were very busy hanging our stunning murals. On Monday 17 July, the artist Tina van Raay was invited, along with our Year 5/6 students to help unveil the new addition to our play areas. The three panels represent water, earth and sky and were based on the artwork created for the fete’s student art gallery. The detail of this artwork is breathtaking, and we hope families (maybe during next week’s Parent/Teacher meetings) have a closer look.  A very big thank you to the artist Tina, Ms Herrington for making sure every student was able to experience contributing to a mural and our very generous P&C for funding this opportunity.

Parent/Teacher Meetings

Parent/Teacher meetings are to be held throughout Week 3 (week starting 31 July). The purpose of the meetings is for your child’s classroom teacher to discuss learning goals, possible strategies to support at home and an opportunity to answer any parent/carer questions. If you haven’t received an email with more information regarding bookings, please email our admin team.

Celebrating our Students

Ryan S, one of our Year 2 students has been part of the u12s ACT Futures basketball squad, trained by NBL hall of fame legend Cal Bruton of the Bruton Basketball Foundation. Over the holidays, Ryan travelled with the team to Orange NSW for a jamboree. His team made it to the finals but finished runners up.  Ryan is a passionate basketball player and is also part of the Scorers Academy Squad attending the 3x3 holiday invitational camp where he won the foul shooting competition for all ages. We are excited to see how Ryan and our Year 3/4 boys play at the up-and-coming ACT Jamie Pearlman Cup.

Rostrum- Public Speaking Competition

On Tuesday 25 July, I had the absolute pleasure of attending the interschool Rostrum quarter finals where Campbell Primary was represented by our Year 5 student, Arabella H. Her topic was ‘A New Adventure’.  Arabella’s hard work was evident as she engaged the audience, describing an adventure to ancient Egypt. We are very proud of you Arabella and we hope you are too!
