We are looking forward to the 2023 Athletics Carnival next Tuesday 28 March at Woden Athletics Track.

The buses will be leaving at around 9:10am so it is vitally important that students arrive at school on time. Pre-school, Kindergarten and Year 1 students will be returning to school at around 12pm following their rotations.

All students are encouraged to wear their house colours (Britten – blue, Davidson – green, Hodge – red and Walker – yellow) as well as footwear suitable for physical activity. It is also important that students bring plenty of water, food and a sun smart hat. The canteen will be available for students in Years 2-6 with a modified menu. The weather forecast at this stage predicts a chance of rain. We will monitor the situation with the weather and unless there is severe weather the carnival will go ahead. If required, we will prioritise completing the track (running) events as we have facilities to complete the long jump and shot put at school at a later date.

Students competing in the 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12/13 years running events, will receive a certificate if they finish first, second or third in their heat. These will be given to the students straight after the heat. It will be their responsibility to put it in their bag and take it home with them. Ribbons will be awarded for the top 3 overall (based on times). These will be awarded at Yuma on Friday 31 March.
