Principal's message
Dear Families and Carers,
Thank you to our wonderful community for supporting the school and enabling us the time to develop learning programs to go online. The school has created ICT support teams and today these teams have engaged in four professional learning seminars on Google Classroom, hosting webinars, Flip classroom with screencastify and using Seesaw for home learning (P-K). These expert teams will then work with the remaining staff to upskill all teachers in ICT capabilities and the use of Google suite.
Whilst teachers are becoming familiar with the new modes of delivery, the Directorate is working on a set of guidelines to support teachers and parents to navigate online learning and maintain strong connections with students and families.
Students in Years 1-6 will be accessing their learning through Google suite. Families will receive information shortly regarding passwords and log-on procedures for their children. It is anticipated that during week 10 of term 1 we will trial these platforms to ensure all families have access and that students can connect with their teachers.
Preparing ICT devices for loan
The school is currently doing an audit of our devices. It is our intention to accession them through the library so that parents who do not have access to a device can borrow a Chromebook (Year 3-6) or iPad (Year P-2). To assist in our planning could you please complete the survey link if you require a device or access to the internet (please complete an individual survey for each child).
We anticipate distributing devices to families early next week. We will confirm collection times once we have established the demand for borrowed devices.
