Principal's Report

Music Extravaganza December 1

We welcomed Mr Tim over Week 8 (week starting 28th) who worked with our Year 3- 6 students on creating an item to share with the community. It was incredible to see so many families attend the matinee and afternoon performances. The students (and teachers) achieved so much in just four days with Mr Tim. Thank you to our very generous P&C for funding this experience. To see the students so exciting and involved was a lovely way to celebrate the year.

Community Picnic December 6

Not to be outdone by the senior students, our Preschool to Year 2 students entertained their families with some songs when they hosted a Community Picnic on December 6. Families sat under the shade of the trees and listened to the beautiful voices of their children. Thank you to those families that attend and thank you to the canteen staff who organised a special lunch box.

Year 6 Graduation and Dinner/Disco December 7

Our Year 6 students did an outstanding job during their Graduation. At the beginning of the Graduation the students introduced one another by reading aloud one liners about a peer and after talking to our community, it was such a highlight! It was so special to hear the students celebrating one another. Al Scherer has contributed an item to this newsletter, sharing information about the Graduation and Dinner/Disco.

Preschool Graduation December 7

Our Preschoolers also Graduated on the December 7. During their Graduation they performed a couple of songs to their families, received a certificate and paraded around the playground wearing a graduate cap. It was such a lovely way to end their time together. We can not believe they are ready for ‘big school’ already.

Thank you to those families who have already paid.

Seeking Assistance over the Holidays

As we move into the holidays, we wanted to make you aware of the supports that are available to your child when they are not at school. Changes to routine can be hard and your child may experience times when they feel a range of challenging emotions such as sadness, stress, or lonely.

During the holidays we encourage you to check in/yarn with your child. It can be helpful to let them know that you are available to speak with them if they ever need. You may also like to encourage them to stay connected with friends and family, look after their physical health, and engage in the activities that they enjoy. There are a range of tips and ideas available at Parentline and Raising Children’s Network. Alternatively, you may like to consider any local community events and activities available.

If you notice that your child may benefit from chatting with someone, we encourage you to make them aware and support them to access services. This may be engaging with your GP or accessing online or telephone supports such as kidshelpline (1800 55 1800). Please note that you can also call these numbers to help guide your support, alongside parentline (02 6287 3833).

Thank You

Paula Kinsman is due to return to school at the beginning of 2023. I just wanted to thank everyone (staff, students, and community) for their support whilst in acting in the principal role. A particular thank you to Kate Herrington and Al Scherer who have worked tirelessly alongside me in the leadership team. It has been a pleasure to be involved in all the end of year events and transition plans as we fast approach 2023.

To the families that are leaving the Campbell Primary School community, we wish you all the best and hope you stay in touch.

I hope everybody has a restful and safe holiday.

Take care,

A/g Principal

Erin Minehan
