STEM Evening
A huge thank you to all the families who came and supported our STEM Night on Thursday 27th October.
We had a great time building the tallest marshmallow tower, creating slime, getting a great view of the night sky in the planetarium, and making music with makey makeys.
A shout out to both Carina Kemp for bringing in a fun hands on geology collection, and Keirin Joyce for organising the drone display. We were lucky that the rain held out and we could see them in flight too!
Alongside our amazing volunteers, we had The Academy of Future Skills who pitched in with microscopes for the junior years and some hands-on building activities, which were highly popular. Students and families could work together on pre-coding skills using BeeBots that came with different challenge cards.
It was a fantastic opportunity for older siblings and parents to share STEM experiences and for families to have a catch up over a BBQ sausage to support the school. Thank you to the P&C for hosting the sizzle!
We have received some great feedback from the community about our STEM night and all the teachers are so glad that you enjoyed yourselves. It was a wonderfully rewarding experience to host and see everyone back together again.
We look forward to continuing to develop these resilient, exploratory skills in our students that will help build 21st century skills.
