Week 10 marks the end of Term 1 2022 and Campbell Primary hasn’t let cohorting and continuing covid safe practices slow us down! Below are pictures of just a fraction of the amazing things that our community has participated in over the last 10 weeks including tennis, soccer, hockey, Kenny Koala’s visit, Menslink sessions, sports colour day, Harmony Day, buddy time, cooking, STEM, choir, Defence Club, student newspaper, a whole lot of learning and even more fun!
We CANNOT wait to see what exciting new adventures Term 2 will bring, not least of which will be moving into our wonderful new play areas and amazing learning spaces!
From the DSM Desk
In the US, the month of April is dedicated as the Month of the Military Child. While there has been stirrings of trying to adopt the practice here in Australia it remains largely an American thing. That doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t celebrate our amazing Australian children from ADF and veteran families! With ANZAC Day fast approaching I wanted to take this chance to pay tribute to the amazing little people behind the dedicated service personnel. Their quiet but unwavering support and resilience allow our ADF members to achieve great things for our Country. These little people may not always understand why they have to move again, where Mum or Dad have gone, or what the Australian Defence Force is in any great detail, but they contribute greatly just the same. So from our community to all the children of current and former ADF personnel (especially those at Campbell right now) YOU ROCK!
As we move into the holidays, I would like to wish all of our families a safe and restful break. We have lots of amazing things happening in the new term and excitement is definitely building (no pun intended). Week 1 will see our Campbell students mark ANZAC Day with cohort assemblies on Friday 29th April in our gorgeous new communal spaces. We encourage students to represent their loved ones by wearing badges, medals (right hand side only please) or a sprig of rosemary. Further information will be distributed during Week 1. We are very hopeful that by Remembrance Day we will be able to have a full traditional service with our families in attendance.
Congratulations to staff, students and families on an amazing Term 1; your adaptability and resilience is to be celebrated!
